The Role of the Parent:
We know parents of PGE students are superheroes too! Parents play an important role in their child’s development and academic success at PGE. Your child will have a daily planner. The daily planner is a useful tool to keep communication open and is a wonderful way to create the student skills necessary for success in middle school and high school.
Each day your child will bring home his/her planner. The planner entry will include important dates and homework assignments. Students are responsible for completing homework daily. In order to continue to work together, we ask that you read and check the planner daily. We also ask that you help your child become responsible by returning the planner to school daily. Furthermore, feel free to write any notes to the teacher next to your signature.
Communication between a child’s teacher and parent is key to a successful school year! However, we believe fifth graders are old enough to be responsible for their daily planners.
